🌟 Google Gemini & Meta (Facebook) push AI boundaries

your potential patients will be using these tools. Here's how to get your facility ready for this.

Hi ,

Google Gemini & Meta's AI Innovations

1. Google Gemini: Google released its updated large language AI model yesterday, bringing AI integrated offline to your patients' Android phones as well as into Google search. Are you ready for your patients to use AI to find & interact with your clinic yet? You need to be, because competitor clinics are already getting ready for this…

2. Meta's (formerly Facebook) AI Tools: Meta is bringing AI versions of celebrities to WhatsApp and Instagram, offering a unique way to engage.

Do you think that your new patients would like to communicate with an AI version of your top doctors or treatment coordinators as they do with these celebrities?

They've also introduced an image generation tool similar to Bing's Creator and DALL-E, which is perfect for creating custom visuals for your clinic.

Choosing the Right AI:

Despite the whole range of LLMs (large language AI models) out there, from Claude, to llama, to anthropic, PI, Gemini, Q and GPTs, my current advice is to:

- Start with GPT-4: It's advanced, smart, and useful for real-world tasks managing your clinic and patients (as long as you don’t use real data)

- Move Beyond Free Versions: While free AIs are tempting, versions like GPT-4 offer more accuracy and better features.

- Experiment: Try different AIs for specific needs. Microsoft Bing, for example, provides direct access to GPT-4 free of charge.

- Stay Informed: The AI world changes fast. Make sure you’re reading this newsletter every time you get it to stay up to date and sign up to our next workshop (see below)

A Blueprint for AI Implementation in Healthcare

It's crucial to embrace AI strategically in your clinics and hospitals. Here's a preliminary blueprint for organisational change:

1. Establish AI Policies and Principles: Set clear guidelines on what's allowed with AI tools to protect your organisation.

2. Plan for the Future: Many clinics lack a plan for emerging AI like GPT-4. Forward-thinking organisations should anticipate what AI will soon be capable of and plan accordingly.

3. Act Fast: AI developments are rapid. Prioritise the following steps:

- Education and Training: Equip your team with AI knowledge and skills.

- Appoint an AI Supervisor: This person, should guide AI development and monitor progress throughout your clinic or hospital/

- Set Policies and Principles: Develop and adhere to responsible AI practices.

- Conduct Impact Assessments: Understand how AI will affect roles, operations, and services.

- Create an AI Roadmap: Outline priority projects, team impacts, and tech stack changes.
